MQM considering separation from government, 2 ministers and one special assistant submitted their resignations
The Coordinating Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan has asked for the resignation of its National Assembly members.
Sources say that in the coordination committee meeting held in Bahadurabad, MQM considered separation from the federal cabinet and government and other options.
Sources say that an important announcement is expected from MQM in 24 hours.
According to sources, 2 Federal Ministers and a Special Assistant of MQM have submitted their resignations to the MQM Coordination Committee. The resignations of Federal Ministers Aminul Haq and Faisal Sabzwari have been submitted to the Coordination Committee.
MQM leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan says that some members of the coordination committee are of the opinion that if local elections are held on January 15, they should separate from the government.
He said that I don't think that the coalition election will be held on January 15, there is a need for constitutional interpretation, for which we will have to approach the courts, we will participate in the elections the day after the Election Commission fixes the constituencies, the seats of MNAs are the trust of the party. Sometimes, they resign to the party on the first day.
Khawaja Izhar said that Jamaat-e-Islami never won an election in Karachi against MQM, after the boycott of MQM, representatives of Jamaat-e-Islami won in Karachi.
Besides, MQM spokesperson says that tomorrow's general workers' meeting has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons, the new date of the meeting will be announced later.
Federal Minister and MQM leader Aminul Haq said that the option of resignations has been considered but things are progressing in a better way. It will not be considered.
It should be noted that yesterday while speaking to the media on the occasion of the unification of the factions, Farooq Sattar had said that the federal and provincial governments should come out, stage a sit-in on Shaara Faisal and see how the local elections are held on January 15.
