Islamabad: The Election Commission, rejecting the decision of the Sindh government, has decided to complete the second phase of local body elections in the province on January 15.

In the meeting held in the Election Commission under the chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner, the issue of local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad was considered.

Order of the Election Commission

The Election Commission has also issued its decision regarding the second phase of the local body elections in Sindh, in which it has been stated that the notification of the Sindh government is a violation of the SLGA law, and the second phase elections in the province will be held on January 15. Chief Secretary and IG Sindh should make fool-proof security arrangements.

The Election Commission has directed the secretary and special secretary to reach Karachi and said that the preparation for the election in Karachi, Hyderabad and Thatta divisions is complete, the ballot papers have been printed and the bulk breaking of the election materials has been done, the polling staff has been appointed. The commission is ready for polling.The Election Commission has said that it is in Sindh local government law that the boundaries cannot be changed after the announcement of the election schedule, withdrawing the notification of local areas 2 days before polling is against the constitution and law, according to the survey of the Sindh Election Commissioner, the situation in Dadu for polling It is favorable.
